Silent Sublime

This is a monograph of my Senior Photography Thesis work from Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

My thesis was focused on silence -- how I could use the camera to transform normal scenes into something sublime.

My process consisted of way-finding through natural landscapes, as well as landscapes that had elements of urban decay. The black and white element emphasizes each space, texture, depth, light and shadow.

I merged and recomposed certain photos in the darkroom to create new believable landscapes. At the end of the book, there is a quote by Edmond Jabés, one that had stuck with me and inspired me throughout the whole project.
